Day 1 – Arrival in Hanoi

On your arrival at the airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. SILK PATH HOTEL (Deluxe Room).

Day 2 – Half Day Hanoi Sightseeing

In the morning, visit the One Pillar Pagoda. You will then explore the first university of Vietnam, the Temple of Literature, which is imbued with the profound philosophies of Confucianism. Visit the HoanKiem Lake, the Ngoc Son Temple and an ancient Vietnamese "long house ". A one-hour cyclo tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter allows you to catch a glimpse of ancient Hanoi and learn about traditional Vietnamese architecture. The afternoon is free at leisure. (B)

1. Duong Lam Village (FD)

This excursion will take you to the ancient and well-preserved village of Duong Lam via Binh Yen village which is famous for creating laterite soil works. This is a wonderful opportunity to immerse in the calm and tranquil atmosphere of country life and meet the local people. You will explore Mong Phu Village, the Mia Pagoda, the Phung Hung and Ngo Quyen Temples. Enjoy lunch at a local house. Return to Hanoi in the afternoon. [Lunch]

2. Ky Son day trip (FD)

Drive to Ky Son Village in the morning. Take a pleasant walk or bike ride around the village to get a taste of the northern countryside lifestyle of Vietnam. Be back to the Moon Garden for a cooking demo and have your lunch. Relax before setting out on a bike ride to Duong Lam Village with stops for taking pictures, chatting with children and farmers. Visit Mia pagoda, some old houses, and the Mong Phu communal house and Ngo Quyen & Phung Hung temples before returning to Ky Son Village. Relax and drive back to Hanoi. [Lunch]

3. Ninh Binh Rural Life (FD)

Drive to Ninh Binh. Upon arrival, you will take delight in a scenic bicycle ride around paddy fields, pagodas, small villages and markets. A visit to Vuon Thi Village will offer you a chance to interact with the local people by partaking in their daily activities. Discover the lifestyle, hospitality and friendliness of the Northern people when you prepare lunch with a local family. Later, work alongside the farmers in the field and learn how wet rice is cultivated. Sit back and take in the mesmerizing limestone cliffs while cruising on the Van Long reservoir. Drive back to Hanoi in the late afternoon. [Lunch]

4. Ninh Binh Village and Caves (FD)

Drive to Ninh Binh. Start your exploration with a leisurely bike ride through paddy fields to visit Dong Tam Village. Interact with the friendly locals as well as take part in lunch preparation. Enjoy your lunch with a local family. After lunch, take a sampan ride through But Cave Complex. Explore the dry cave as wells as the water caves. Return to Hanoi in late afternoon. [Lunch]

5. Tam Coc and Dinh Le Temples (FD)

Take a drive to the dramatically landscaped province of Ninh Binh. Pay a visit to Hoa Lu, a former capital of Vietnam and then continue to the Dinh Temple and Le Temple where people pay their respects to former kings of the nation. Afterwards, head to Tam Coc where you will travel in a local sampan along the Ngo Dong River among the stunning limestone formations rising out of the plain. Drive back to Hanoi in the afternoon. 6. Ha Long Bay in brief (FD)

Drive through green rice paddy fields from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay. Take a delightful cruise through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Ha Long Bay. Visit a grotto of gigantic stalactites and stalagmites and enjoying lunch onboard before returning to the dock. Drive back to Hanoi in the late afternoon with a stop en route at a ceramic factory.
